Before Spartacus fought his first battle in the arena, many gladiators had already stepped onto the sand. Spartacus: Gods of the Arena tells the story of Gannicus, the first Champion of the House of Batiatus. This happened in a tougher time, before Spartacus arrived, when the idea of honor was just starting to appear in the arena.
